Custom made Oak Coffee Table

Bespoke Oak Coffee Table.

A recently finished commission was for a customer in Winchester who wanted a large coffee table made out of an Oak tree that had come down in his garden.

My customer had had the oak tree milled up a while ago into workable planks and beams, he designed the coffee table himself and commissioned me to make the piece.

The top sits on a solid block that is raised off the ground by wooden dowls (feet) and I’ve joined three wide boards together to create the top. The oak has beautiful markings in the grain which has been finished with a flat non shiny varnish.

The coffee table fits in nicely with my customers furniture and it’s pleasing that the oak tree has got a second life!

Custom Made Garden Benches

Bespoke Garden Furniture.

A local customer had an ancient Yew tree that had unfortunately come down, he wanted some garden benches made out of the wood and contacted me to see if I woukd help.

The Yew tree was milled up into the correct thickness for what he wanted and I’ve just made two beautiful benches out of the wood.

The Yew tree is one of the oldest and versatile trees that we have, often found growing in graveyards they are steeped in history.

The wood is a mix of reds and pinks with striking grain patterns, it really is one of the most beautiful timbers to look at.

These large benches have been coated in Danish oil will help protect them against the elements, the oil also brings out the colourings of the wood.

It’s been a busy year so far with furniture commissions and projects on the go with Interior Designers and local customers.

Our furniture showroom is open daily and there’s a lovely range of Oak Coffee Tables and Side Tables available for you to take away immediately.

These Rustic Oak Side Tables pictured are a firm favourite and I have just managed to buy the last remaining Oak Beam that will work for these beautiful functional pieces of furniture.

The showroom is stocked with a range of furniture including chairs, benches, console tables, picture frames, mirrors and more, we are open from 10am daily.

in Hampshire, they wanted a statement piece of furniture for their living room, something that would last a life time and that was unique.

I made this Oak Coffee Table out of a single plank of locally grown timber, it was ebonised and has a highly polished finish which is still looking as good as new after a number of years.

Our Interior Designer friends at The Bureau of Change have opened up a space at The Packhouse in Runfold, Surrey.

There’s a selection of my rustic furniture on sale along with a beautiful mix of treasures from Hampshire based artists as well as one off items that have been thoughtfully mixed in to create a organic and authentic interior display.

If you’re local to Farnham then go and have a browse, you’ll find The Bureau of Change’s area upstairs towards the back of the building.

Rustic Chestnut Side Tables

These two lovely rustic side tables have gone to the BlueBell Inn in Emsworth where they are being used as lamp stands in the pubs three new b & b rooms that are being transformed by the interior designer Neil Williams.

These solid sturdy Chestnut Side Tables have been cut from an ancient beam that dates back 300 years or so, they have beautiful markings in the grain which I’ve enhanced with a couple of coats of clear wax.

There’s alot going on over the next few months with furniture orders and projects, I’ll be supplying some chopping boards and various pieces of rustic furniture to The Bureau of Change at The Packhouse in Farnham, Surrey when they open on the 3rd of June, this will be a beautifully curated space selling Rustic Decor and unique high end Interior pieces.

The Packhouse is open 7 days a week and is just outside of Farnham.

Here at Blackstone Chalk Furniture I design, make and sell an interesting selection of rustic wooden furniture that is traditionally made out of authentic reclaimed timber.

Not only do I offer a range of off the shelf items that are on display in my showroom, I make to order too.

Having been a furniture maker for around 14 years I have a number of contacts throughout the country who supply me with the most beautiful old timbers that I am lucky enough to get to turn into custom made tables, chest boxes, chairs, side tables etc.

It’s been a busy few weeks with furniture flying out of the showroom and commissions coming in, Finding time to get all my furniture loaded onto my website can be challenging so I just wanted to let everyone know what I have in stock that’s not currently on my website.

I have a gorgeous rustic Console Table that has been made out of heavy – dark in colour oak beams, there’s a photo of it on this post, it would look amazing in a large kitchen or Hallway, the pictures don’t do it justice!

I also have a reclaimed oak small coffee table that has a grey / weathered patina which has been made out of Oak, there’s a square block on little wooden feet that works as a coffee table or side table, these are really versatile pieces of furniture that are always popular, I also have a rustic side table with a shelf, there are images of it on Instagram, it has a ‘brutalistic’ look to it which I’m really pleased with.

I’ve just delivered this large rustic oak bench that I made a while back, It’s gone to live in its new home in the new forest in a very old cottage where it fits in beautifully with its surroundings.

We’ve had a busy few weeks and furniture has been flying out of the showroom, We still have a good selection of rustic decor and handmade coffee tables, Side tables, benches, picture frames, mirrors and gifts available including Heidi’s work from The Rustic Picture Frame Company.
